This North East corner of the Balkans is a perfect flatland paradise. Whilst fairly un-flown as it requires winching, the biggest XC flights in Bulgaria have been made from here, with 2025 seeing the first 400km flight in the country (link below).

We will also be winching near to Dobrich, and aiming to fly XC as far as possible each day. XC routes are possible in all wind directions except West. If there's Westerlies then the only option would be to drive ~1.5hrs to Madara near Shumen and fly from there. If there's very light wind then attempting a triangle or out & return would also be possible. 

The best time of year for flying here is mid-summer - July & August being the most thermic and best chance of a good XC.

Accommodation is included in the cost of the holiday and is typically a Hotel or B&B, based on 2 sharing a room.

We have several options and for group bookings we can arrange accommodation based on the preferences of the group.

Accommodation details will be confirmed before arrival.

If you would like to book a private room then please just ask whilst booking. This is subject to availability and surcharge.

The closest airport to Dobrich is Varna (VAR), around a 45 mins drive and transfers are included from there on arrival/dep days. There are flights from the UK (LTN & LGW) with Wizz Air.

Burgas (BOJ) airport is the next closest airport around 2hr45 drive to Dobrich.

Bucharest airport may also be an option, and is around a 3hr drive - both countries are within Schengen, so there's no border control.

All pilots need to be suitably qualified to fly on their own in whichever country they are coming from. For the UK this would mean CP rated, with some thermalling experience. For this trip - pilots also need to be suitably qualified in towing.

We strongly advise guests to take a comprehensive Holiday Insurance Policy that includes cover for Paragliding.

A deposit of €100 per week booked is required, and the remainder due on arrival, either in Euros cash or by IBAN transfer.

Please contact us with the week(s) you would like to come, and we will provide instructions on how to pay the deposit.

Deposits are non-refundable. However - please contact us if, for some reason you cannot make a week - and we may be able to transfer your deposit to use on a different week (subject to availability). Or you may transfer your deposit for the same week to a friend or someone else - please just make contact to request any changes.
